Nicki Minaj has been sued for assault, battery and “intentional infliction of emotional distress” by the day-to-day manager on the Pink Friday 2 Tour. In a complaint filed on Friday (January 3) in Los Angeles Superior Court, Brandon Garrett alleges that the Grammy-nominated rapper struck him in the face during a confrontation. Garrett claims that Minaj hit him multiple times during an incident that occurred backstage at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on April 21 after Minaj’s concert. Garrett eventually filed an official police report in Detroit regarding the incident, after he was told he would not be accompanying Minaj and her crew at her following show in Chicago. He is seeking punitive and exemplary damages and general damages. Minaj’s lawyer, Judd Burstein, denies the allegations and calls the lawsuit “completely false and frivolous.” “We are confident that the matter brought by this ex assistant will be resolved swiftly,” Burstein says.
