The lawsuit against Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs over the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl in 2000 has been voluntarily dismissed by the attorney representing the Jane Doe. The court filing was made on Friday (February 14) in New York, with the suit ultimately being “voluntarily dismissed, with prejudice,” meaning it cannot be refiled in the future. Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s entertainment company, issued a statement signed by Jay-Z which called the dismissal of these “frivolous, fictitious and appalling allegations” a “victory,” but said that, “The trauma that my wife, my children, loved ones and I have endured can never be dismissed.” Jay-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, proclaimed that, “By standing up in the face of heinous and false allegations, Jay has triumphed and cleared his name.” Despite the dismissal, Combs still faces numerous lawsuits filed over the past year.
