The USDA is employing drones equipped with thermal cameras and loudspeakers to scare off wolves. One of the audio recordings used is the emotionally charged argument between Johansson and Driver’s characters in the acclaimed 2019 drama. A USDA district supervisor in Oregon explained that the goal is to make the wolves “respond and know that, hey, humans are bad.” This “wolf hazing” technique, which also incorporates loud music like AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck,” has proven effective.
