Eddie Murphy, who has 10 children, encourages others to have large families in a new People magazine interview promoting the Netflix documentary Being Eddie. The 64-year-old comedian told the publication, “I never knew I would have 10 kids, but now it’s the best thing ever. If you can afford that many kids, you should have as many kids as you can afford. That is fun.” Murphy’s children come from multiple relationships, including two with current wife Paige Butcher. He expressed pride that all his children are “decent people” with no “rotten one” among them. Earlier this year, Murphy told Complex’s 360 that his children, not his entertainment career, represent his true legacy. He said, “My legacy is my children, that I produced these wonderful, well-balanced human beings that I’m proud of that are good people.” The documentary Being Eddie is now streaming on Netflix.
