61% Think Holiday Regifts Are Acceptable Now

SHARE NOW

“Seinfeld” coined the term in 1995, or that’s at least when it got popular. Elaine got a label maker for Tim Whatley. Then he got caught regifting it to Jerry.

She was offended, and YOU might be too if you found out. But how do we feel about regifting in GENERAL in 2025?

A new poll found most Americans think regifting is acceptable now: 61% said it’s at least “somewhat” okay. That includes 22% who said it’s totally fine.

Regifts ranked lower than USED gifts though. 64% think secondhand gifts are okay. It just depends on what it is. A leather-bound first edition of their favorite book? Great gift. Used socks? Not so great.
