On Friday (December 19), the Recording Academy revealed that Paul Simon, Cher, Chaka Khan, and Carlos Santana are set to receive Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards this year, with posthumous honors for Whitney Houston and Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. Additionally, lyricist Bernie Taupin, executive Sylvia Rhone, and late Latin jazz musician Eddie Palmieri will receive the Trustees Award, while classical composer John Chowning will be honored with the Technical Grammy Award. These accolades celebrate artists and contributors for their outstanding creative impact on recording, and will be presented at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles on January 31, the night before the main Grammy ceremony at the Crypto.com Arena on February 1.
