Super Screen Time? 76% of Adults Will Watch Two Screens at Once

SHARE NOW

If you monitor your screen time . . . like people do with kids . . . does watching multiple screens at once count as DOUBLE?

In a new poll, 76% of American adults say they watch TWO SCREENS AT ONCE. That could be looking at your phone while watching a movie . . . or watching YouTube on a laptop, with a TV show on in the background.

12% say they always do this, while 33% often do it, and 31% sometimes do.

64% of adults say they spend at least five hours a day looking at screens, including 10% who say they spend more than 12 hours looking at screens.

Not surprisingly, adults under 65 are more likely than Boomers to spend at least five hours a day looking at screens.

The poll also asked, “What is the longest amount of time you think you could COMFORTABLY go without your cellphone for personal use?”

  • 8% said they could only make it “an hour or less.”
  • 26% said “a few hours.”
  • 17% said they could do “a full day.”
  • 16% said “a few days.”
  • 8% said they would make it “a week.”
  • 4% said even longer . . . “a month.”
  • Another 4% said “more than a month.”
  • And 6% claimed they could give up a cell phone for “more than a year.”
