What Is an Underrated Weight Loss Tip?

SHARE NOW

We’re just a couple months away from summer, so if you have workout goals for improving your physique, it’s CRUNCH TIME. (Uh, maybe LITERALLY.)

People online are listing their “underrated weight loss tips,” and while none of them are groundbreaking, there’s some good stuff.

1. “You can’t eat it if you don’t buy it. Be smart at the grocery store.”
2. “Build small achievable habits. We can’t do everything at once. Pick something small and master it, then build.”
3. “If you’re prone to snacking, be more ‘picky’ with the snacks you’ll eat.”
4. “Eat more fiber.”
5. “Portion control . . . and no emotional eating.”
6. “Don’t drink your calories.”
7. “Realize losing weight isn’t a temporary change in behavior, it’s a permanent lifestyle change. Otherwise, you’re just starting over, every time.”
8. “Eat anything but not everything. Make portions small, add other things, stay in a caloric deficit, but never give up on the things you like.”
9. “Don’t be the trash can. If you’re eating food just because you don’t want to throw it away, you just became the trash can.”
10. “Go out for a walk every day.”
11. “In the evening, brush your teeth right after you eat. That stops you from eating any more, since you’d have to brush again.”
12. “Use smaller plates and bowls. A lot of people just fill blank space, if you need to fill in less space it’s just less food.”
13. “Drink more water. Seriously, 9 times out of 10, you aren’t hungry . . . you are just thirsty.”
14. “If you go to a restaurant, bring a Tupperware container for leftovers. Before you eat anything, put half of your food in the container . . .

“Restaurant portions are always too big, and if food is already on your plate, it’s too easy to keep eating even after you’re no longer hungry.”
