Everyone has a favorite musical act, movie, or TV show that they’ve come to like LESS . . . just because it became too popular.

That phenomenon can happen in everyday life too.

Someone on social media asked, “What was ruined because too many people discovered it?” And here are some of the responses:

1. Food trucks. Because they became more expensive.
2. Farmers markets. For similar reasons.
3. Etsy. “Used to be a great place for unique handmade goods. Now, it’s flooded with cheap mass-produced items.”
4. Local craft fairs. For similar reasons.
5. Airbnb. “It exploded and destroyed the long-term rental market.”
6. The internet. Because everything has become so corporate. It’s harder to find GOOD content, around all the ads, sponsored sites, and A.I. junk.
7. Black Friday. “It used to be deeply discounted normal electronics. Now it’s lower quality SKUs specifically made for Black Friday.”
8. Pokémon cards. “You have freaks using them as investment items and scalping them for a living.”
9. Thrift stores. They were ruined by resellers.
10. All hobbies. Someone said, “I feel like reselling in general has degraded most hobbies. Desperate people want a side-hustle because the economy is garbage, so they swoop in on popular things . . . and suddenly quiet hobbies are now wildly expensive because scalpers are trying to step in as middlemen.”
11. Every “hidden gem” that’s been discovered by “influencers.”
12. Nature. “People with Bluetooth backpack speakers are the worst.”
13. Geocaching. Too many people disrespecting the intricacy of it.
14. Conventions like Comic Con. They’re too mainstream pop culture now.
15. Storm chasing. “It used to be a hobby for weather nerds and people who were genuinely passionate about severe weather. Hollywood and social media monetization turned it into massive crowds of reckless streamers.”
