Father’s Day is this Sunday, which means it’s time to CRAM on what to get your dad, who always says he doesn’t want anything . . . but probably does . . . unless it’s another “#1 Dad” mug.
Someone on social media asked: “Dads, what do you ACTUALLY want for Father’s Day? I just know the answer can’t be beef jerky and mugs.” And here are some of the best responses:
1. “To be able to spend time with my family . . . and NOT be expected to go out to a meal with my in-laws.”
2. “A day off.”
3. “Go to a baseball game . . . eat some hotdogs . . . and enjoy time with my kids away from screens.”
4. “I’d love to go on a long hike with my kids.”
5. “I want to pack a cooler and go to the local park . . . set up a small grill, cook some burgers, drink a beer or two, and hang out with my wife and daughter.”
6. “To play a round of golf with my son and my father. Nice weather. A great cheeseburger. Some cold beers.”
7. “A great at-home breakfast. Something that’s easily within the repertoire, but not an everyday item.”
8. “A day to read and write . . . paint . . . or play videogames.”
9. “A sword.”
10. “I love my family, but I’m also an introvert . . . so the perfect day would be my wife leaving with the kids at dawn and not coming back until bedtime.”
11. “I just want a handmade card and to smoke meat all day.”
12. “An ice cream cake.” Another said, “Flowers, and a card.”
13. “A pack of decent socks is good.”
14. “A pressure washer.”
15. “I just want to be listened to without having to repeat myself.” Classic, Dad.
