Back to school season is just starting, so it’s PROBABLY too early to pretend to be sick to get out of going. OR . . . for parents . . . to pretend to be sick to get out of work, so you can enjoy a QUIET DAY, alone at home.

A new poll asked, “Have you ever pretended to be sick to get out of work or school?” And 54% admitted that YES . . . they have. While 36% claimed they have never done that.

6% are “not sure” if they’ve ever done this. And 4% would “prefer not to say.”

Midwesterners are more likely admit to playing hooky than people from other regions of the country. Women are more likely to have done it than men . . . and Gen X is the generation most likely to admit to it.

Gen Z’ers are most likely to DENY ever pretending to be sick to get out of work, potentially because they DON’T HAVE A JOB.
