Ever been to a Blimpie? 30 years ago there were more than 2,000 locations . . . and now, that number has tumbled to around 90. So if we aren’t into Blimpie anymore, what do we like?
New data has revealed the “most popular sandwiches” across the country, with help from Google Trends, social media, and A.I.
Here are the highlights:
Turkey sandwiches and grilled cheese sandwiches were the most common. Both were listed as the most popular sandwich in seven states.
The turkey lovers are in: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Washington. And the grilled cheese aficionados are in: Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Pastrami on rye was the top choice in four states: California, Nevada, New Jersey, and New York.
