There’s that age-old saying: “If someone uses their turn signal while driving on a forest road in the middle of nowhere, and no one is around to see it, does it even make an impact?” (???)
An internet poll asked, “What’s your opinion on turn signals . . . should they ALWAYS be used?” And yes . . . pretty much everyone thinks they should.
87% said, “EVERYONE needs to use them, ALWAYS.”
10% said, “Always use them, except when your intentions are clear.” (I guess the implication here is that they’re not needed if you’re in a turning lane or an “Exit Only” lane.)
1% said, “Use them whenever you feel like it.”
Less than 1% said, “They really aren’t needed in general.”
Less than 1% said, “I hate them. I think they are stupid.”
In the comments below, someone said, “The fact that this is even a question is insane to me.” And someone else said, “As a runner and cyclist, please use them always. I know YOU think it’s obvious where you’re going. It’s not.”
