If you aren’t looking for a job right now, chances are you know SOMEONE who’s looking for a gig that pays enough to make ends meet. So this COULD be helpful . . . if you’re willing to go against the grain.

People online are listing jobs that pay “ridiculously well” . . . because it’s hard to find workers willing to do them. Here are a few:

1. Tower crane operators. “In New York City and other places you can make upwards of $450,000. You climb up in the morning, and don’t come down until it’s time to go home. It’s scary as heck all the way up there.”

Others note that “anything involving extreme heights” PAYS STACKS. Another example is being a bridge painter, and electric lineman . . . especially on emergency response crews.

2. Kitchen exhaust cleaners. Someone said, “I’ve cleaned globs of grease and vacuumed very disgusting-looking water. Great pay, gross work.”
3. Underwater welders. “It’s one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. There’s a risk of decompression sickness mixed with electric shock, and most people only last a few years because of the physical toll. It’s also one of the highest-paying jobs in the world.”
4. Wastewater maintenance mechanics. “They make six figures in union-dominant states in the Midwest.”
5. Septic tank work. One person says, “I install septic tanks. I’m the lowest on the ladder, but I still make $30-an-hour for really easy work. I stand around with a laser level and glue a couple of pipes together.”
6. People who repair wind turbines. “They make a lot due to the danger.”
7. Oil field work. “It’s in the middle of nowhere, and it’s very physically taxing. It pays really well, but your lifestyle suffers.”
8. Crisis psychiatric nurses. One person says, “I worked with the most ill patients. It was extremely rewarding, but it was also very dangerous. We were very well-compensated, and I’d often get bonuses for doing a few extra hours.”
9. Sailing on cargo vessels. “It pays well because no one wants to be out at sea for three to six months at a time.”
10. Air traffic controllers. “They make a ton of money because it’s one of the most stressful jobs on the planet.”
