CBS and the American Music Awards have signed a five-year deal to keep the awards show on the network through 2030. The new agreement comes after the 2025 AMAs averaged 4.86 million viewers – the highest since 2019 and up 38% from the last ABC telecast in 2022. Including replays and delayed viewing, the audience exceeded 10 million. CBS and Dick Clark Productions, which produces the AMAs, first collaborated on a 50th anniversary special in 2024 that drew 6 million viewers, though no awards were given. The deal helps soften the blow for CBS, which is losing the Grammy Awards to Disney starting in 2027. While the Grammys are the most watched music awards, the AMAs have been a consistent ratings draw over the years. The new five-year agreement will kick in with the 2026 AMAs and continue through 2030, ensuring the awards show remains on CBS with a simultaneous Paramount+ stream. (THR)
