Arnold Schwarzenegger has built a career on being a manly man; from his early start as a body-builder, to his turn in Terminator, to the governor’s mansion in California, he’s a tough dude who unapologetically embraces iron-pumping machismo.

So it’s notable when Mr. Olympia makes a statement about masculinity. Schwarzenegger appears in The Game Changers, a documentary from Oscar-winners Louie Psihoyos and James Cameron about the rise of vegan food use among pro athletes. The film focuses on James Wilks, a Special Forces trainer who is on a quest to find the truth about meat, protein and strength, People reports. 

Several prominent athletes appear, including Schwarzenegger, who slams marketing tactics that he says trick men into believing meat is manly. 

The 72-year-old says: “There’s no one that can relate to it better than I do because I’ve lived in that world. Steak is for men. They show these commercials — burgers, George Foreman with the grill and epic sandwich. This is great, great marketing for the meat industry, selling the idea that real men eat meat. But you’ve got to understand, it’s marketing. It’s not based on reality.”

Schwarzenegger has reportedly reduced his own meat consumption by 80%. 

The Game Changers will screen in select cities for one day only on Sept. 16, and in New York and Los Angeles on Sept. 20.
