Harrison Ford will receive SAG-AFTRA’s Life Achievement Award at the Actor Awards ceremony streaming live on Netflix March 1st. The 83-year-old Star Wars and Indiana Jones actor becomes the 61st recipient of the honor. SAG-AFTRA President Sean Astin announced the selection Thursday, calling Ford “a singular presence in American life; an actor whose iconic characters have shaped world culture.” Astin added, “His career has been endlessly exciting, always returning to his love of acting. We are honored to celebrate a legend whose impact on our craft is indelible.” Ford, who recently starred in television series 1923 and Shrinking, responded to the recognition by saying, “I am deeply honored to be chosen as this year’s recipient of the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award.
