British prosecutors have dropped indecent assault charges against Harvey Weinstein. The alleged assault, said to have occurred in London in 1996, involved a woman now in her 50s. The Crown Prosecution Service discontinued the criminal proceedings after a review of the evidence, determining that there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction. Weinstein, who was previously found guilty and jailed in the US, is still facing a possible retrial in November after the New York Court of Appeals threw out his Manhattan conviction. He’s already been convicted in Los Angeles and sentenced to 16 years. (NBC News)
