The Crown Prosecution Service discontinued the criminal proceedings after a review of the evidence, determining that there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction. Weinstein, who was previously found guilty and jailed in the US, is still facing a possible retrial in November after the New York Court of Appeals threw out his Manhattan conviction.
