THE REPORT TRAILER DROPS: Adam Driver is taking on the true story of Daniel Jones, lead investigator for the 2014 Senate Torture Report in The Report. In it, he works with Senator Dianne Feinstein (Annette Bening), and the probe lasts years, during which Jones/Driver uncovers terrifying truths about the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation Program. Tim Blake Nelson, Corey Stoll, Maura Tierney, Michael C. Hall, Ted Levine, and Jon Hamm all co-star. The Report hits theaters on November 15 and Amazon Prime Video on November 29.

TRIBECA KICKS OFF PITCHNY: College students and recent grads can apply to Tribeca Film Institute’s 4th annual PitchNY program, an attempt to help young and diverse directors, producers and writers perfect their pitching skills. It is also, of course, an opportunity to connect them with industry pros who can then mentor them. “We’re thrilled to work with the Governor’s Office and NBCUniversal for the fourth edition of this program,” said Amy Hobby, Executive Director at Tribeca Film Institute in a statement. “PitchNY engages emerging voices based in our home state and provides them with the tools they need to thrive as advocates for their content, which will ultimately help them launch and sustain careers in the film and television industries.” PitchNY will take place On Nov. 7 and 8 in 30 Rockefeller Plaza, where 50 chosen finalists will get the chance to pitch and mingle. 

HUGH LAURIE SIGNS ON FOR ROADKILL: The BBC political thriller Roadkill has recruited Veep star Hugh Laurie to star. Roadkill is a four-part fictional thriller about a charismatic Conservative politician Peter Laurence (Laurie), whose public and private life are being picked apart by his enemies. 

JOHN BAILEY TO GET LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: John Bailey, who recently completed his term as president of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has a long line of cinematogrophy credits, including Boulevard Nights, directed by Michael Pressman; American Gigolo for Paul Schrader; Ordinary People helmed by Robert Redford; and Honky Tonk Freeway for John Schlesinger. Bailey will receive a lifetime achievement award at the 27th Camerimage cinematography festival, which runs Nov. 9-16 in Torun, Poland.
