Another day, another plot twist in the Operation Varsity Blues saga. Just days after her parents Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli pleaded not guilty to conspiracy charged linked to their alleged $500K bribe to get their daughters into University of Southern Cal under false pretenses, Olivia Jade, 19, and / or Bella Giannulli, 20, have reportedly received a “target letter” letting them know they under investigation by the Department of Justice, The Daily Mail reports.

Observers speculate that the target is Bella, who deleted her Instagram account this week. Both girls are still enrolled at USC while the school reviews their case.

Several other parents, including Felicity Huffman, have pleaded guilty in a bid to have their prison time sentence. But some of these parents, including Huffman, who reportedly shelled out “just” $15K in the scam, were facing shorter times behind bars to begin with. Loughlin and her husband are reportedly looking at 20-40 years.

According to the Los Angeles Times, their legal team is planning a “parenting on steroids” defense.
