John Stamos and wife Caitlin McHugh had an unusually memorable birth experience. The 55-year-old Fuller House star, who btw, refers to himself as the “baby whisperer,” tells People that McHugh went to the doctor with contractions, but was told it was a false alarm.
“The doctor said, ‘Why don’t you go home and have a glass of wine?’” Stamos said. “She normally doesn’t drink and hadn’t for months.”
That seemed to get things moving, and McHugh, who Stamos described as “hammered,” went into labor. The first few weeks were scary, they recall. “He wasn’t fully baked, so that was very scary in the beginning,” said McHugh. “He was very, very small … fragile, little. Every time [he] fell asleep, you’re like, ‘Please wake up.’ [We were] constantly checking to make sure he was still breathing.”
All’s well that ends well, and the pair have embraced parenthood.
McHugh said, “All we talk about now is baby poo,” Stamos chimed in, “I waited a long time for a kid. He can poo and pee on me all he wants.”
