Josh Brolin is in final talks to play the villain in Paramount’s new version of The Running Man, directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun Of The Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) and based on the Stephen King novel (published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman). The film, set for release on November 21, 2025, takes place in a dystopian future and follows the story of Ben Richards (Glen Powell), who must survive being hunted in a violent reality show to save his gravely ill daughter. The rest of the cast includes Karl Glusman, Katy O’Brian, and Daniel Ezra. The Running Man’s first film adaptation, now a cult classic, was released in 1987 and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger.
