Mattel, the toy company behind Barbie and Hot Wheels, is now collaborating with Sony Pictures to develop a live-action feature film based on the iconic View-Master toy that has delighted audiences since 1939. Described as a “four-quadrant family adventure,” the movie aims to bring the toy’s storytelling magic to the big screen while honoring its legacy of imagination and exploration. Mattel is working on a long list of projects based on its vast toy empire, including a live-action Barney movie with Daniel Kaluuya, a Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots movie with Vin Diesel, and one about Uno with rapper Lil Yachty. The company’s first movie, Barbie, grossed a staggering $1.4 billion. (Variety)
