Fairy godmother! Oprah Winfrey is beloved for many things, but her penchant for sharing her wealth is definitely up there. The media maven’s latest good deed involved three recent grads from her South African Leadership Academy.
Oprah took the trio to Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills Saturday to shop for wedding dresses. "I’ve known these girls since they were 12 and 13 coming to my school. Graduating from college. Grad school. Now our first wedding," Oprah captioned a photo of the ladies posing with the bride-to-be. "Looking for the perfect dress. #biglifemoment"
The “perfect dress” ended up costing $10K, the Daily Mail reports.
The bride, who goes by Glori R on Instagram, shared a shot of Oprah’s disapproval of one pick. She wrote: "Mum O like, 'Nooooo, that can't be it, Glori.'"
Saks shut the store down so Oprah and co. could shop in peace. Before they hit Saks, Oprah took them to Spago, a Wolfgang Puck restaurant.
This is not the first time Oprah has treated alums from her Academy to a special day. In 2015, she took 20 to a special performance of Broadway’s The Color Purple, starring Jennifer Hudson, a dinner at NYC’s Rainbow Room and makeup classes with Clinique and MAC. She also frequently has them to her home.
