The Paris Prosecutor’s Office has requested that actor Gérard Depardieu stand trial on rape allegations made by Charlotte Arnould. The actress alleges that Depardieu, a friend of her father’s, raped her on two occasions when she visited his Paris home to seek his advice in 2018. Depardieu was 69 at the time, while Arnould was 22. Depardieu denies the allegations and had appealed for the case to be dropped, but his appeal was unsuccessful. A judge will now decide if the case goes to trial. Depardieu is already set to stand trial in October for another sexual assault case brought by two women who claim he assaulted them on the set of a French film in 2021. (THR)
