The domestic box office is going to (the industry hopes) explode when Paramount’s A Quiet Place Part II and Disney’s Cruella drop.
This weekend, as Liongate’s Spiral: From the Book of Saw brought in $4.55 million, with a running total of $15.8 million. Lionsgate says that Spiral has now pulled in $1 billion through its nine-film franchise.
Demon Slayer came in at No. 6 with $1.33 million for a total of $44.9 million, making it the second-highest grossing anime film in the domestic B.O. behind 1999’s Pokeman.
Universal’s F9 is heading to $162.4M in eight markets; it hit theaters June 25th.
