The Police’s Andy Summers Launches ‘Global Guitar’ Docuseries

Guitarist Andy Summers, best known from The Police, is launching an eight-part docuseries called Global Guitar. The unscripted series follows Summers as he travels worldwide to explore how different cultures embrace the guitar. Summers described the project as deeply personal, saying, “This comes from a deeply authentic and personal space – an extension of something I’ve been doing my entire adult life.” He added, “It is absolutely the preeminent instrument in the world. Every culture has accessed it and made something of their own of it.” Summers also serves as executive producer. Filming is planned for early next year. (Story URL)
