Amber Heard is returning to Aquaman 2, and she is not happy with the people who signed a petition to have her removed from the film.
“I'm super excited about the amount of fan love and the amount of fan appreciation that Aquaman has acquired and that it has garnered so much excitement for Aquaman and Mera that it means we'll be coming back,” Heard said. “I'm so excited to film that.”
A Change.org petition titled “Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2” called on Warner Bros. and DC to oust her. It has more than 1 million signatures. This comes after her ex Johnny Depp lost his libel case against The Sun in which it dubbed him a “wife beater” for his reported maltreatment of Heard. As a result of the bad PR from the case, Depp was forced out of the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Depp is appealing.
The outcry on social media continues, as many call out the double standard when Depp alleged that she abused him and produced witnesses to support his account. Wrote one critic: “the fact that johnny depp lost all his leading roles and reputation is ruined even when there are recording and physical proof showing that amber heard physically and emotionally abused him is so revolting. like this will never sit right with me.”
