GOLDEN GLOBES ENLISTS NEW PRESENTERS: The Golden Globes has recruited an all-star cast of presenters for the 78th Annual Awards. On Monday, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced that Anthony Anderson, Tiffany Haddish, Kate Hudson, Margot Robbie and Kenan Thompson will join previously announced Awkwafina, Cynthia Erivo, Annie Mumolo, Joaquin Phoenix, Kristen Wiig and Renee Zellweger. Presenters will appear live at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills or Rainbow Room in New York when the bicoastal show goes live. Nominees will appear remotely. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host from opposite coasts.
GILLIAN ANDERSON TO PLAY … Gillian Anderson has signed on to star as Eleanor Roosevelt in the upcoming Showtime anthology series, The First Lady. Viola Davis and Michelle Pfeiffer also star. “Gillian Anderson is an actress of incredible range and exquisite talent – she is the perfect choice to complete this powerhouse trio, who will inhabit the roles of these iconic women,” Amy Israel, Executive Vice President of scripted programming at Showtime stated. “It's inspiring to have Gillian, Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Susanne Bier and Cathy Schulman at the forefront of THE FIRST LADY.
BROOKE SHIELDS RECOVERING: Brooke Shields broke her femur and is working hard to get back to normal life. The 55-year-old shared a video of herself on crutches practicing to walk. “Broke my femur. Beginning to mend. No matter what your challenge is, make a positive choice, for yourself, to move forward. #BeginningisNow,” Shields wrote on Instagram along with the clip.
