If you caught a glimpse of yourself in the mirror before leaving home, would you SURPRISE YOURSELF by how you look . . . or would you wish that the mirror had an Instagram filter?
An online poll asked, “On a scale of 1-to-10, how would you rate your attractiveness?” And even though it was anonymous, most people leaned toward NORMAL-ISH.
3% of people said “1” . . . they’re hideous.
8% said “2” or “3.”
30% said “4” or 5″ . . . middle of the road, on a good day.
47% said “6” or “7” . . . so slightly more attractive than not. (Yes, yes, “6 – 7” . . . shut up kids.)
8% said “8” or “9”
And 2% said “10” . . . or they look perfect in every way. (Or at least the 95th-plus percentile.)
Here are some of the comments:
“In terms of conventional attractiveness, I’m a 2 or a 3 . . . but in my boyfriend’s eyes I’m a 10, so it doesn’t matter.”
“Depends on the effort that I put in. And the amount of sleep I’ve gotten in the past few weeks. Anywhere from a 4 to a 9.”
“Depends how confident I am on the day.”
“I’m a 5, who can be a 6, and overall, probably peaked at a 7 a time or two.”
“The universe keeps me at the same level. I lost 60 pounds and went bald at the same time.”
None of the “10 out of 10s” provided any photographic evidence.
