You don’t mess with the mail. And the USPS should know that better than anyone else.
A 45-year-old USPS worker in Iowa named Jill Brown has been arrested for stealing Menards rebates from people’s mail . . . and redeeming them herself.
A homeowner complained about the rebate being missing . . . and Menards reported that it had been redeemed. They figured out that Jill had cashed it in, and that she’d done this MANY times over the past two years.
Not only would she steal the rebate cards being sent out . . . but she’d also steal the receipts that customers were mailing in to Menards to get the rebates . . . and then she’d send them in herself.
Jill was charged with fourth-degree theft. It’s unclear if she did these rebate shenanigans with other places as well . . . or if Menards was just her favorite store. They also didn’t say what she got at Menards, or if it was just cash.
