For every MAGICAL engagement video, there are others that don’t go exactly as planned. Sometimes, the moment is not captured clearly . . . other times, the camera is not the problem.
There’s a video going viral, showing how a Carnival cruise ruined a couple’s proposal. It happened back in 2017, but the woman, Amanda Bratton, recently posted it online.
It was an honest mistake. Amanda’s now-husband Gary had arranged for the staff to deliver the ring to him “at the start of a romantic dinner.” He would then propose, and the servers would come over with a cake and sing a song to celebrate.
But the cake and the song arrived BEFORE the proposal, so they were congratulating Amanda and Gary on the engagement . . . and Amanda was saying, “I’m not engaged.”
Gary also looked confused and annoyed at first, but then he smiled and went with it. The ring was brought over in a bag, and Gary pulled it out, got down on one knee, and proposed. Amanda said yes, obviously.
People in the comments say Carnival owes them a free cruise . . . but the staff probably just got excited and jumped the gun. Gary also seems like a great guy for how smoothly he pivoted, and still made the moment special.
