Alex Warren’s smash hit ballad, “Ordinary,” has set a new record on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart by holding the No. 1 spot for 15 weeks, surpassing Ace of Base’s 1994 classic, “The Sign,” which previously held the longest run at 14 weeks. Since first topping the chart in June, “Ordinary” has dominated mainstream Top 40 radio plays across more than 150 stations, with its record-setting run at No. 1 interrupted only by the one week reign of Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild.” “Ordinary” also spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and led the Billboard Global 200 for 10 weeks, while topping Billboard Global Excl. U.S. for eight frames, reflecting the song’s worldwide appeal. Warren said his goal was to create a song that resonated with as many listeners as possible, leading to its record-breaking success that is now unmatched in the 33-year history of the Pop Airplay chart.
