Beyonce leads the nominations for the 2021 NAACP Image Awards. The singer scored six nods including Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album for Black Is King, and “Brown Skin Girl”, and Outstanding Soul/R&B Song for “Black Parade.” Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Chloe x Halle and Ledisi each scored four nominations.
Meanwhile, the nominees for outstanding album include Alicia Key’s “Alicia,” Brandy‘s “b7,” John Legend‘s “Bigger Love,” Ledisi‘s “The Wild Card” and “Chilombo” by Jhene Aiko.
The late Chadwick Boseman earned two posthumous NAACAP Image award nominations for his work in the Netflix films “Da 5 Bloods” and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.” “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” scored nine nominations.
Netflix scored 48 nominations. The streaming giant featured several projects including “Da 5 Bloods,” “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” “Bridgerton” and “#blackAF.”
Regina King's “One Night In Miami” earned four nominations. King is also up for entertainer of the year — other nominees include Tyler Perry, Viola Davis, Trevor Noah and D-Nice.
The 52nd NAACP Image Awards will be simulcast on March 27th at 8 p.m. ET across ViacomCBS Networks, which includes BET, CBS, MTV, VH1, MTV2, BET HER and LOGO.
