Breonna Taylor's family publicly addressed the grand jury verdict on Friday (September 25th), saying that the justice system failed the 26-year-old EMT worker. As previously reported, the three officers who killed Taylor were not charged in her death. The only charges announced by Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron were three counts of wanton endangerment against fired Officer Brett Hankison for shooting into a home next to Taylor's with people inside.

According to CNN, Breonna's aunt read a statement written by Breonna's mom Tamika Palmer, saying, “The judge who signed the search warrant failed her. The terrorist who broke down her door failed her.  The system as a whole has failed her. You didn’t just rob me and my family, you robbed the world of a queen.”

Attorney Benjamin Crump also called out Cameron to release the transcript of the grand jury proceedings. He said, “Breonna Taylor’s entire family is heartbroken … and confused and bewildered, just like all of us, as to what did Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron present to the grand jury. Did he present any evidence on Breonna Taylor’s behalf, or did he make a unilateral decision to put his thumb on the scales of justice to help try to exonerate and justify (the killing) by these police officers?” He added, “Release the transcript!”

BODY CAM FOOTAGE RELEASED

In other news, the first body cam footage of the night Breonna Taylor was killed has been released. VICE News posted two brief clips from hours of body cam footage that they obtained from responding SWAT team members and other officers from LMPD.

The two videos depict the moments after officers Hankison, Cosgrove and Mattingly fired dozens of rounds into Breonna's apartment.

The first video shows what VICE says is Kenneth Walker, Breonna's boyfriend, being screamed at by a cop who threatened to sic a K-9 unit on him, telling him to get on his knees and not to turn around.

Later, more cops arrive, including Hankinson himself and they arrest Walker. According to VICE, Hankinson tells Walker that he is going to jail forever.

According to VICE, in the second video, Hankison is walking into Breonna's apartment after SWAT members had gone in to start investigating.
