Dapper Dan has opened up about Gucci’s diversity and inclusion plan, following their blackface controversy. During a recent radio interview, Dap explained, “We have a changemakers program, I wish everybody would go online and see what they implement. But this is what we should be doing, look at the changemakers program and see if it's something you agree with, and if you agree with it, we're going to run with this and keep running with it, and you know what we're going to do next? We're taking it to the rest of the brands.”

He also spoke on Gucci being boycotted by the hip-hop community, saying that it is not beneficial to the cause. Dap asked, “What can we get out of this?” He then said, “We do a boycott, this will be the first boycott people of color, black people have ever had in America that we get zero results. That's too damn stupid.”
