Delta Airlines has partnered with Napa Valley’s first and only black-owned winery to host an in-flight wine tasting for Black History Month. According to The Shade Room, Brown Estate wines will be served on select Delta flights, which is an idea that a Black Delta employee came up with.
The airline celebrated the partnership with a surprise tasting on a flight from San Francisco to New York on Tuesday (February 26th).
The wines will be featured on the domestic Delta One wine menus for the winter 2019-2020 rotation. The wine list will include Brown Estate’s 2017 Betelgeuse Sauvignon Blanc and 2017 Chaos Theory red blend, which were selected by Andrea Robinson.
The idea to partner with Brown Estate came from Carlyne Scott, a member of Delta’s black community business resource group (BRG) and BRG program manager.
