COLIN KAEPERNICK SIGNS DEAL WITH DISNEY: According to TMZ, Colin Kaepernick has signed a deal with Disney and is currently working on a docuseries. The docuseries will feature “extensive new interviews and a vast never-before-seen archive that documents his last five years. Kaepernick will tell his story from his perspective.”As for the overall deal, Disney says “the partnership will focus on telling scripted and unscripted stories that explore race, social injustice and the quest for equity, and will provide a new platform to showcase the work of Black and Brown directors and producers.” In a statement, Kaepernick said, “I am excited to announce this historic partnership with Disney across all of its platforms to elevate Black and Brown directors, creators, storytellers, and producers, and to inspire the youth with compelling and authentic perspectives.” He added, “I look forward to sharing the docuseries on my life story, in addition to many other culturally impactful projects we are developing.” Jemele Hill will be involved in the project as well.
DONALD TRUMP SAYS BUBBA WALLACE NOOSE INCIDENT WAS A HOAX: On Monday (July 6th), Donald Trump took to Twitter and questioned whether NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace should apologize after reports hit of a noose hanging in his garage. Trump wrote,”Has Bubba Wallace apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX? That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings EVER!” Wallace responded to Trump. saying, “Always deal with the hate being thrown at you with LOVE! Love over hate every day. Love should come naturally as people are TAUGHT to hate. Even with it's HATE from the POTUS.” In other news, Wallace has signed a new endorsement deal with BEATS By Dre.
TORREI HART AND REGINAE CARTER REACT TO LIL WAYNE AND 50 CENT'S COMMENTS ABOUT BLACK WOMEN: Kevin Hart's ex wife Torrei Hart took to Instagram to address 50 Cent's recent comments about black women that he made on Lil Wayne's Young Money radio show. 50 said that he dates “exotic” women because they don't look like the women from the neighborhood. Lil Wayne responded by laughing. Lil Wayne's daughter Reginae reacted via Twitter, saying, “I’m black ! I’m beautiful ! I’m enough ! I’m exotic ! I’m amazing ! I’m one of my mf kind !!! Now where my beautiful queens at?” Hart released a video, saying that she doesn't care what a black man prefers but she hates it when they down black women. She explained, “Just because you have a preference doesn’t mean you have to down your lineage or where you come from. I’m so sick and tired of people tryin’ to say that black women are angry. Black women are bitter. Ain’t nothing bitter about me.” 50 later responded to the backlash, saying, “What I said is true now picture me, unaffected, unapologetic and unavailable for any other comments.”

RICKEY SMILEY'S DAUGHTER SHOT THREE TIMES IN HOUSTON: Comedian, TV and radio host Rickey Smiley revealed on Monday (July 6th) that his 19-year-old daughter Aaryn was shot three times on Sunday night (July 5th) in Houston. Aaryn was caught in the crossfire of a shootout on her way to pick up some food at Whataburger. She is currently hospitalized Smiley said that his daughter is “fine” but added, “My daughter could have died. She was shot with a hollow point bullet. If that bullet would have hit her in the chest, she would have been dead. And I just hate it. I just hate it.” Aaryn shared a photo, along with the caption, “This is the most terrifying thing that has ever happened to me. I won’t be out of the hospital for a while nor will I be able to walk for a while due to nerve damage.”
