TEN EMPLOYEES AT WILL SMITH AND JADA PINKETT-SMITH'S PRODUCTION COMPANY HAVE COVID-19: Ten employees at Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's production company Westbrook, Inc. have tested positive for COVID-19. According to Madamenoire, this was documented on the Los Angeles County Public Health website. Westbrook Inc. said in a statement, “We received 10 positive tests and the crew members quarantined and remain in quarantine. All 10 people were retested and have received negative results. TIFFANY HADDISH DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO READ WHEN SHE WAS A KID: Tiffany Haddish revealed that she didn't know how to read when she was a child. In an interview with VLAD TV, she discussed being nominated for a 2018 Grammy for the audiobook version of The Last Black Unicorn when she couldn’t read for a long time. She explained, “That was kinda cool to be nominated for a Grammy for reading out loud when I couldn’t read at one point in time in my life when I was in my teens.” She continued, “Because I thought I was stupid. Everybody would say to me, ‘You’re stupid, you’re stupid, you so stupid.’ At that time in my life, I took things literally. ANTHONY ANDERSON GETS A STAR ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME: On Friday (August 14th), Anthony Anderson received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Anderson told Variety that he was upset that the pandemic affected the turnout of the event. He explained, “I was looking forward to the pomp and circumstance that surrounds anyone getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, because not just anyone can or will get that.” Anderson is the first performer to receive the honor during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. KENYA BARRIS TO PRODUCE NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY ON CIVIL RIGHTS ATTORNEY BENJAMIN CRUMP: Kenya Barris is set to produce a documentary on civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump for Netflix. According to The Jasmine Brand, Barris will produce it under his Khalabo Ink Society company. Nadia Hallgreen, the filmmaker who helmed Michelle Obama‘s documentary Becoming is set to direct the project, while Academy-Award winner Roger Ross will produce the doc. OWN'S 'BLACK LOVE' ACCUSED OF PERPETUATING COLORISM: A trailer for season 4 of OWN's Black Love was released and social media has accused the show of perpetuating colorism.
