R. Kelly is in general population after being released from solitary confinement. According to TMZ, the singer is now at ease and doesn't anticipate any problems while he is being held in federal prison in Chicago. Kellz says he won't have any issues because he feels he is still considered a “legend” there. He also believes that his fellow prisoners respect him and wouldn't harm him despite the charges he is facing.
Kelly's attorney Steve Greenberg tweeted, “#RKelly is being moved out of solitary and in to general population. Next step is to get him bail because he should not be locked up at all!”
It was reported earlier this week that a Chicago judge set a trial date for April 27th, 2020 in Kelly's federal case. In this case, he is accused of child pornography and obstruction of justice.
In other news, Kelly’s girlfriends, Azriel Clary and Joycelyn Savage, will be visiting the singer frequently now that he is in general population. However, TMZ reports that the visits will be “strictly cordial. The singer’s attorney says that Joycelyn and Azriel plan to visit Kelly soon at the federal prison in Chicago. In fact, they plan to visit Kelly on a “regular basis” to keep him company. TMZ reports that Kelly will only be allowed a hug hello and a hug goodbye with each woman.
