R. Kelly has responded to prosecutors who say that he shouldn't get out of prison early due to coronavirus. According to TMZ, the singer's legal team filed a reply, saying that despite prosecutor's reply, he hasn't been given soap and water and cleaning supplies. His attorney Steven Greenberg said that prison is basically a breeding ground for bacteria and it is only a matter of time before someone gets the virus and it spreads. So far, no one has been diagnosed with the virus at the prison.
Greenberg added that his client is being deprived of his right to prep for trial because he can't meet with his lawyers in person. MCC Chicago's banned all visitors due to the pandemic. Greenberg says inmates there are fighting for phone time, and they're having a hard time getting ahold of him. A judge has yet to rule.
