KELIS PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO VIOLATING CUSTODY DEAL WITH NAS: According to The Blast, Kelis and Nas will be back in court on June 20th after she denied that she violated their custody deal by taking their 9-year-old son out of the country. Kelis entered a not guilty plea to 20 counts of contempt. The site reports that she could be hit with fines, or even jail time. When Nas filed the court documents back in January, he claimed that Kelis violated their agreement 17 times. In his affidavit for contempt, Nas explained how Kelis  violated the terms of the agreement, saying, “In or around December of 2018, Petitioner (Kelis) moved to Cartagena, Colombia and took the minor child without my consent.” Nas also said, “On Christmas, (Kelis) informed me by text message that although her ‘plan’ had been to bring the minor child back to me in Los Angeles for New Year’s, the plan had changed. She then stated that the new plan was to come back on January 4, 2019.” Nas also claimed that Kelis did not return to L.A. on January 4th, but made him wait until January 14th before bringing their son back to the U.S. Nas added that he was unable to reach or speak with their son while he was in Colombia. In addition to Kelis willfully violating the custody order and refusing to let Nas see his son, the rapper claims that Kelis also refused to pay $8,000 in sanctions that she was previously ordered to pay.
