IT’S OFFICIAL: BRANDY VS MONICA VERZUZ IS HAPPENING!!!: It’s official, the battles of all battles, Brandy vs Monica is happening! The VERZUZ battle will take place on August 31st at 8:00pm est. After the battle was announced, Monica wrote, “This will be historical. It’s an honor @brandy.” Brandy responded, “looking so forward to this Queen. Love to you Legend♥️.” She later wrote on her Instagram, #History. Thank you @monicadenise @applemusic and @verzuztv for making this happen. Let’s celebrate!!!! #b7.” Back in May, Monica said she probably wouldn’t do a VERZUZ battle with Brandy because “people have put us against each other for twentysomething years.” She added, “You’re going to turn this into 1998 all over again and I have no interest in that.”
BRANDY OPENS UP ABOUT GROWING UP IN THE PUBLIC EYE: In an interview with People, Brandy opened up about the pressure she felt growing up in the public eye. She said, “I struggled with being put in a box of perfection. I felt like my mistakes would let down everyone if I made them. I had to make the transition from being a teenager to a woman and figure out what direction I was going to go in.” She continued, “I felt like I didn’t have the space to grow and to grow up in a safe way. I had to deal with so many other opinions about what I should do, how I should be and what I should look like. And that can get tough when you’re trying to find your own voice.”
R. KELLY FANS PROTEST ON HIS BEHALF IN CHICAGO: R. Kelly fans marched this past weekend in Chicago to demand his release from jail. The singer-songwriter is currently in jail in Chicago, awaiting his trial for child pornography and other serious charges. He has been in jail for a little more than a year. According to The Jasmine Brand, fans were seeing carrying banners that said, “Free R. Kelly ‘Due Process'” and were heard chanting “Free R. Kelly!”
JAHEIM SUPPORTS TRUMP: Singer Jaheim took to social media to reveal that he is actually supporting Donald Trump. He said, “Trump has saved a lot of people, man. Face it, it is what it is. I don’t give a d*** who gon’ like it. Do your homework, cause I’m gonna post some more stuff. I’m gonna wake y’all up.
