PROSECUTORS SAY R. KELLY IS A FLIGHT RISK AFTER PRISON RELEASE REQUEST: According to Billboard, U.S. Department of Justice Attorneys has responded to R. Kelly's request to be released from prison due to the COVID-19 pandemic, saying that he is a flight risk and a danger to the community.  Prosecutors also argued that it is “disingenuous” for Kelly to say he has “no means to go anywhere” considering that “in the first quarter of 2020 alone Kelly received over $200k in royalty proceeds.” In addition, they say Kelly still continues to have a “significant network of individuals to assist him” and to do his bidding, including posting on social media in support of him and allegedly trying to intimidate his accusers. In other news, R. Kelly's New York sex trafficking trial has been pushed back from July to September 29th.

AZRIEL CLARY SENDS SPECIAL MESSAGE TO JOYCELYN SAVAGE: Speaking of R. Kelly, his ex girlfriend Azriel Clary took to social media to send a message to Joycelyn Savage. Azriel and Joy got into a fight months back after Azriel moved out of R. Kelly's condo. She wrote, “You’re beautiful and strong and one day you will remember your strength too. I know leaving was bad but I also know you weren’t yourself because the funny, southern belle, wingspot lovin’, Memphis reppin’ Joy I know would’ve never.” She added, “I love you. A man should never hold you back and one that is happy to do so is not a real man. A man that doesn’t not allow you to have a life outside of him is not a man with genuine intentions. Always missing you.”

WOMAN DROPS SEXUAL ASSUALT SUIT AGAINST CHRIS BROWN: A woman who has alleged that she was raped at a party at Chris Brown’s house has dropped her lawsuit. According to The Blast, the unknown woman who was referred to as Jane Doe in the lawsuit claimed that a friend of Brown’s named Lowell Grissom had raped her at a party that was filled with drugs and alcohol back in 2017. She was allegedly invited to the party after one of Brown’s concerts. She also said that the singer offered her cocaine, MDMA and marijuana before the alleged assault began. No word on whether Brown and the woman reached a settlement amount or if the case was thrown out altogether. 

KEYSHIA COLE OPENS UP ABOUT HER ISSUES WITH O.T. GENASIS: During a live with Ari Lennox last week, Keyshia Cole opened up about her issues with O.T. Genasis. She revealed the real reason why she didn't like his remake of her classic "Love." She explained, “Like honestly, I’m not even going to talk about that situation, but it just pissed me off so much because you know at a time, when everybody was going through so much in the black community and like getting killed and all that, getting pulled over, getting killed and then you want to do a whole song that I wrote about love and shooting and killing and bang bang and all that. It’s like yo sir chill and then get mad when I say, I don’t like what you did, like preserve the integrity of my music, like and then just bully and bully and continue to bully like what!”

NE-YO WITHDRAWS DIVORCE PAPERS AGAINST ESTRANED WIFE CRYSTAL RENAY: According to Bossip, Ne-Yo has reportedly withdrawn his divorce petition against estranged wife Crystal Renay. The singer-songwriter filed for divore last month, saying that his marriage was “irretrievably broken,” and there was no hope for reconciliation. He asked for joint legal custody of their children and petitioned the judge to enforce their prenuptial agreement as part of the breakup. But last week, he asked the judge to throw the case out, without prejudice, which means he can refile it again. The two have been quarantined together in Atlanta.
