BRANDY AND RAY J HAVE NO ISSUE WITH KIM KARDASHIAN'S CORNROWS: In an interview with The Talk, Brandy and Ray J say that don't think Kim Kardashian wearing cornrows are cultural appropriation. Brandy said, “I don’t think that she’s guilty. I definitely believe in that, but I think it’s reaching a little bit for people to say that. I mean, it’s great. I love braids. I think everybody should have braids, but I think we’re going too far with that with her.” Ray J added, “I got nothing but respect. I just think that if you are paying homage to another culture by, you know, rocking the braids, I think it’s a compliment.”
SUMMER WALKER DELETES HER INSTAGRAM: Summer Walker decided to delete her Instagram after she was criticized for posting a video about the coronavirus, which ended up being two years old. The now deleted fake video showed people in China “spreading the disease.” Walker captioned the video, “That's some trifling nasty a** sh*t.” After being called out, she deleted all of her pics. She wrote, “Lol people so dumb, talking about I'm racist and that video was from a long time ago. It don't matter if it was from 20 years ago, bottom line that sh*t nasty & IDGAF if a black white yellow or green person did that sh*t, it's still nasty. Lmao I literally don't give a f*ck anymore this is app. It's not that serious. For my label Ima just delete all this sh*t.”
SOLANGE IS NOT DATING COMMON: Solange has shut down rumors that she is dating rapper Common. The rumors started after the two were seen at the Lena Horne Prize for Artists Creating Social Impact inaugural celebration at Town Hall in New York last week. She posted a screenshot of the video for David G‘s 2009 track titled “Lying On Me.” Her rep also said in a statement via SOHH, “Solange and Common are not seeing each other. Both artists attended the Lena Horne Prize event simply to honor Lena Horne’s Legacy.”
