RIHANNA GIFTED FAUX FUR COAT FROM PETA AFTER APPEARING TO WEAR REAL FUR COAT: According to TMZ, PETA gifted Rihanna with a faux fur after the superstar was spotted wearing a real fur she wore last week. In a letter penned to the singer, PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange wrote, “As a mother, you know what it’s like to feel protective and to want to make sure no harm comes to your family. Please understand that this desire — this instinct even — is shared by the minks, foxes, and rabbits who are torn away from their families and killed for their fur.” She added, “The fur industry is so violent that it’s now illegal for designers to sell fur in California, and more brands than ever — including Chanel, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Valentino — have banned it. Won’t you please help create a kinder world for your children to grow up in by deciding today that you’ll no longer wear fur?” The letter concluded, “We’re also sending along a beautiful faux fur coat from Unreal to help you stay warm and fashionable while making the cruelty-free switch.”
R. KELLY GETS ADDITIONAL YEAR IN PRISON FOR CHICAGO CASE: A judge has added another year to R. Kelly's sentence regarding his Chicago case. According to Page Six, last week, U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber sentenced R. Kelly to 20 years for three counts of producing child pornography and three counts of enticing a minor into criminal sexual activity. The terms are that the sentence will run concurrently with the 30 years he is serving now for his New York state charges. In essence, he will have to serve another year after his New York bid is up. The judge said, “No matter what I do, Mr. Kelly isn’t going out the door after today. He’s not going out the door in the next 10 years. He’s not going out the door in the next 20 years.”
