THE WEEKND POSTPONES TOUR OPENING IN TORONTO: The Weeknd postponed his tour opening in Toronto due to a nationwide network outage. He said in a statement, “I’m crushed & heartbroken. Been at the venue all day but it’s out of my hands because of the Rogers outage.” He continued, “Operations and safety are compromised and I tried my absolute best. This one hurts the most, and we will make this show happen, but unfortunately not tonight. I know how long you’ve been waiting and how hard a lot of you worked to make it to the show and experience this special moment with me. I can’t wait to see you all.”
RAY J PLANS TO CHANGE HIS NAME: Ray J has revealed that he plans to change his name. This past week, he was a guest host on The Talk and he told the audience,”My real name is Willie. Willie Ray Norwood, Jr. I’m a junior, so Ray Jr. But my dad has owned Willie, that’s his name, that’s my dad’s name. He’s Willie. So, I’m Ray J, but I’m changing that too.” He continued, “I’m going with a new name top of the year. Ray J, he’s into — he’s lived. It’s time to evolve. My new name will be Tron. Tron. T-R-O-N.” When asked why, he said, “Because I’m in a digital mindset right now. I’m in the computer, right. I’m in. It’s like a new Matrix. I don’t wanna go that deep, we going too deep.”
JHENE AIKO'S 77-YEAR-OLD DAD ALSO HAS A BABY ON THE WAY: In addition to Jhene Aiko expecting her second child, her 77-year-old dad Dr. Karamo Chilombo is expecting a baby. FRANK OCEAN DROPS NEW EPISODES OF 'BLONDED RADIO' ON THE 10 UEAR ANNIVERSARY OF 'CHANNEL ORANGE': In celebration of the 10 year anniversary of his debut album Channel Orange, Frank Ocean debuted two new episodes of blonded RADIO on Apple Music 1. According to Pitchfork, the first episode, “blonded LSD,” features Frank speaking with Dr. James Fadiman about microdosing, with an original score produced by Ocean playing in the background. The second episode is titled “blonded ENERGY!” and finds Frank discussing self-realization and the ancient practice of Qi Gong with Master Mingtong Gu.
