BARRY HANKERSON REVEALED WHAT HE DID WHEN HE FOUND OUT THAT R. KELLY MARRIED AALIYAH: Aaaliyah's uncle Barry Hankerson has opened up about how he felt when he found out about R. Kelly and Aaliyah's relationship. In a radio interview, he said, “To be very honest with you, of course, I was upset. I had to really, really consider what my actions would be. And really I found out, I wasn’t a hardcore criminal. I couldn’t kill nobody. So, I took it, I’m a Muslim, and I went to Minster Farrakhan and we just prayed about it, resolved ourselves to let God handle him. I think that’s what’s going on. H.E.R. JOINS THE CAST OF 'THE COLOR PURPLE' MOVIE MUSICAL: H.E.R. is set to make her film acting debut in Warner Bros.’ adaptation of the Tony-winning Broadway musical “The Color Purple.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, H.E.R. will portray the character of Squeak, a waitress-turned-aspiring singer who was played by Rae Dawn Chong in the original 1985 film. The musical will be produced by Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg. Alice Walker, Rebecca Walker, Kristie Macosko Krieger, Carla Gardini, and Mara Jacobs are also executive producing.
