Tamar Braxton has opened about attempting suicide five months ago. During a snippet of an appearance on Taraji P. Henson‘s new Facebook Watch series, Peace of Mind With Taraji, which was shared via Entertainment Tonight last Thursday (Dec. 17th), Tamar said she almost took her life because she thought her son would be better off without her.

The R&B singer told Taraji, “Logan was the reason why I made that decision. I just felt like he deserved better. I felt like I was embarrassing him, being a fool on TV.”

The actress then asked, “You thought he would be better without you?” To this, Tamar replied, “I thought in that moment.”

She continued, “Because I knew that’s not what my whole life really was. That’s not who I was. I didn’t want him to be embarrassed in front of his friends. Here is this loudmouth ghetto mama.”

Tamar’s episode, “Surviving Mental Breakdown With Tamar Braxton,” features Braxton detailing what led to her being found unresponsive on July 16 at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in downtown Los Angeles.

She was later transferred to a facility to receive mental health treatment.
